CDCA (Charleston Defense Contractors Association)

The Charleston Defense Contractors Association (CDCA) aims to address issues and opportunities facing the Charleston, South Carolina defense community. CDCA provides liaison with local, state, and Federal governmental agencies, elected officials, legislatures, and special groups and committees. The Association works to improve the local defense community’s ability to develop, attract, retain, and more effectively execute business opportunities. To provide better services to defense customers, CDCA fosters an increased and effective interaction between defense contractors. Formed in 2002, the Association’s mission is to advocate, protect, and preserve its community.

Fort Detrick Alliance

The Fort Detrick Alliance, Inc.’s mission is to facilitate communication and understanding between Federal agencies at Fort Detrick and the community at large. To accomplish this mission, the Alliance endeavors to build relationships between Fort Detrick and its constituencies in the region: individuals; businesses; civic, social, and educational organizations; and local and State government entities. The Alliance was founded in 2003 as an independent, non-profit Maryland corporation and has more than 100 members.

IPMA-HR (International Public Management Association for Human Resources)

Serving HR professionals since 1906, IPMA-HR is the leading public sector human resource organization in the world. The organization represents interests of human resource professionals and strives to promote excellence in HR management. IPMA-HR members receive comprehensive and timely industry news, policies, resources, education, and professional development opportunities. The organization is governed by an Executive Council and divided into more than 40 chapters, residing in four U.S. regions and abroad.

GIDEP (Government - Industry Data Exchange Program)

GIDEP is a cooperative activity between government and industry participants seeking to reduce or eliminate expenditures of resources by sharing technical information essential during research, design, development, production and operational phases of the life cycle of systems, facilities and equipment. Since 1959, participants have reported over $2.1 billion in prevention of unplanned expenditures. Proper utilization of GIDEP data can materially improve the total quality and reliability of systems and components during the acquisition and logistics phases of the lifecycle and reduce development and manufacture costs of complex systems and equipment.

Tech Council of Maryland

The Tech Council of Maryland is the largest technology trade association in the state of Maryland, providing members with a collaborative community to share information, influence policy, and participate in educational programs. Members of the Tech Council are provided with educational programming taught by industry leaders with a focus on key topics and advocacy at the state and national levels. The Associations’ mission is to build stronger technology and life science communities in Maryland by nurturing a healthy and vibrant environment where members can connect and prosper.

Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA)

AFCEA is an international organization that serves its members by providing a forum for the ethical exchange of information. The Organization is dedicated to increasing knowledge through exploring issues relevant to its members in information technology, communications, and electronics for the defense, homeland security and intelligence communities. AFCEA has more than 30,000 individual members and 1,600 corporate members worldwide.

Software Engineering Institute (SEI)

For over three decades, the SEI has been helping government and industry organizations to acquire, develop, operate, and sustain software systems that are innovative, affordable, enduring, and trustworthy. The Institute serves the nation as a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and based at Carnegie Mellon University, a global research university annually rated among the best for its programs in computer science and engineering.
